Organic vegetable garden kickstarted by Amped and the Utrecht student community

After much preparation, the time has finally come. We have kickstarted a community vegetable garden, in close collaboration with organic farmer Jan and his wife Willemke from tuinderij Dijkzigt in Rijswijk. Last weekend, more than 1,200 plants were planted in fully organic soil. Students from Stichting Groentetas and Utrecht University planted the vegetables together with Jan.

The setup is that Jan and Willemke manage / oversee this beautiful vegetable garden and they are supported by a rotating team of student volunteers for the cultivation.

With this produce we not just supply the Groentetas’ vegetable bags, we are also looking for restaurant entrepreneurs who can use part of the supply for their menus.
