Reflecting on FOOD 2030
Today we’re reflecting on the insightful FOOD 2030 conference in Brussels this week (December 5-6th). ‘FOOD 2030: green and resilient food systems’ aimed to highlight the accomplishments of initiatives connected to EU food systems, as well as to examine future research and innovation directions.
Amped represented the EU4Advice-project and we’re happy to share the takeaways from our team:
- Employing multi-actor, place-based strategies and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders is key to developing systemic, inclusive, and resilient solutions.
- When tackling food system challenges, we must focus on the entire value chain, assessing impacts both qualitatively and quantitatively for a comprehensive approach.
- Policies and science have responsibilities in breaking silos and fostering alignment between local initiatives, national policies, and global frameworks to unlock synergies
What does it mean for Short Food Supply Chains?
- It’s about harnessing the power of local food to reconnect consumers with their food and empowering local communities.
- Collaboration between advisors and AKIS entities is key to creating a knowledge reservoir for sustained progress.
- A common network of advisors can play a pivotal role in sharing opportunities, knowledge, and experiences to tackle common challenges between advisors and SFSC initiatives.
These two days were also a great opportunity to meet with colleagues from the other #HorizonEU projects Cleverfood, FOODPaths and FOODClic to foster cross-project collaborations.
