Floriade Expo 2022

For six months from 14 April 2022, Almere will be the scene of the world horticultural exhibition Floriade Expo 2022. The theme is ‘Growing Green Cities’. Dutch horticulture will present innovations and solutions for sustainable and liveable cities, together with national organisations and international participants.

On 14 June 2021, experts gathered at Floriade with the ambition to explore a digital and physical experience built around food, food innovations, food replacement, food education, food cycles and much, much more. This event was organised by RvO, i.c.w. Municipality of Almere, the Floriade, Amsterdam Trade & Innovate, Amsterdam Smart City and the BTG.

Mark Frederiks, Managing Director of Amped and Local2Local, spoke with Xander De Bruine, Program Manager Knowledge Exchange at Floriade Expo 2022 about what he and his company are doing to shorten the food chain and make it more sustainable.
