Area-based collaboration in Utrecht for a connected, impactful local food system

After two inspirational meetings at Steck Utrecht on 4 April and 31 October 2024, participants in the ‘Utreg, wat maak je me nou!’ (Utrecht, what are you doing!) process proceeded to a co-creation session in January 2025, based on the information gathered about the needs and opportunities of a significant part of the Utrecht food movement.

The next step: a smaller working session to develop an area-specific action and financing plan.

Working session April 10th
During this working session, the group:

  • went through the writing process with Burçu Kor from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. A comprehensive step-by-step plan was drawn up to ensure that everyone can contribute;
  • provided insight into how we will use the participant survey to form effective project clusters;
  • discussed which project clusters are currently most appropriate/relevant in Utrecht.

The core group has agreed that Amped and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences will take on a coordinating role.

Maarten Klop (Amped & Grounded): “The ideas and input give us the confidence that together we can develop effective projects for a green, healthy and happy Utrecht. The ambitions are diverse and impressive: from food forests and Community Supported Agriculture projects to community kitchens, dispensaries, short food chains, nature restoration projects, education and more. And yes, I truly believe that we can make a difference by working together this way!”

The ‘Utreg, wat maak je me nou!’ process is supported by the EU4Advice Living Lab for Central Europe.

Amped is manager of the ‘master’ EU4Advice Living Lab for Central Europe.
